the road to Kansas . . .

A picture speaks a thousand words. Thou i'm not photogenic and no ppl help me take pic, here's some amatuer shots with great description!!!

* Beware - this is an ultra long posting.

What are the 2 things i always have to carry on the plane with me? My samsonite backpack which Princess bought for me and a Samsonite handcarry that dad gave to me. Without these two i think i'm dead cox one carries winter wear and food while the other, my laptop, passport, necessities and travel documents. Heavy thou.. Alone in Pudong Airport waiting for my flight..... foreva waiting..... in jams, queues, sigh....Nothing nice to shop. Could'nt get fridge magnets also.
United Airline, looks nice on the outside but i tell you, it's the olden days SQ planes. No personal tv, seat got crumbs, pillow and blanket just puton your seat also dunno if it's new anot. Common TV reception also bad. Staff are old bossy americans who ain't really service oriented. So watz so great about Americans? Aint they suppose to be like world No.1 or something? Zzzzz

After 13hr 45mins flight to Chicago O'hare Int'l airport here i am in America.... BUT i have 4hrs plus of transit for domestic flight to Kansas so here's some pictures...

When i was in the airport looking out, i saw alot of smoke coming out, i tot like wah....outside so cold ah....than i went out and see....chey.... A special dustbin for cigarette butts.
My journey to transit. Basically for those who gonna travel like me, you got through all immigration at the international airport, collect the luggage that you check-in, got to another area and take a skytrain to domestic airport which has 5 terminals. i past through this underpass where above is the flyway, it's about length of T2 travellator. Than you reach the terminal and check in your stuff and get your boarding pass for domestic flight. Luckily i not first time traveller, if not sure panick. Can get quite lost, especially see those china people who were on same flight with me running ard and so frantic. But no photography in the airpot. The blacks, who are like service staff and security ain't that courteous, and gotta take off your shoes and metal parts, n i mean all metal from belts to rings etc to clear immigration.
So hear i am, at Kansas airport which is really small, dunno what to take also, alone waiting for the driver who left according to the limo company cox he tot i left, while in actual fact my flight was delayed. I took United Airlines all the way from China fyi. Re-consider!
In a nutshell, i left S'pore time Sunday 1pm + and reached Kansas airport on Monday, 10.30am plus and it's another 80mins drive to the hotel. One word - shack
Finally.... Comfort Inn. Great thing there's free internet. My last proper meal was prolly like Sunday 9am breakfast with Khoo in Shanghai and i cook instant noodles at SG time 12.30pm. So hungry lor....if Princess with me, sure bad mood cox long flight + no food = angry Princess hehe.... Hooked up and chatted with Princess who's working at about lunch time, and by the time i went to bed, it's about 3am local time. Basically i set my hp alarm liao but still cant wake up for bfast which is 6-9am, luckily the old lady said got some left and i took these. Are these gonna be my breakfast for the next 2weeks? =(
Entrance and where's i'll be having breakfast. The HR manager, Joe Hastert told me he'll fetch me at 7am to work so guess it's another long day tmr.
Surrounding of my Inn...
Is this place gonna be my best friend for the next 2 weeks? I believe so.... Am i fatter?

Dun really see such stuff for sale....well so fun but so ex leh...

But this is better hehe
This reminds me of you dear. I still remember you used to use this when you first came back from Australia and you used this for your toner. You wan let me know, i get for you. The engine treatments are so so cheap, even after conversation it's like SGD$3 cheaper!!! I really like this shoe, nice and simple and it's only USD9.87 which is about SGD$14.61. Also got a pack of 6 pairs of ankle socks at about USD$5 which i think both you and me need cox mine also out of shap le. Do you want it dear? I also saw a nice berms for USD$10. Funny thing is always i go ot Europe and America, i find stuff i like, but seldom in S'pore. Walmart is like Giant in SG but i still find none? Weird.

Another reason i always like America, chk out the pizza. It's really huge and ready for oven bake. Guess how much? Only USD$9 and this feeds four pax. Check out the sausages....wah lau.. think i gonna buy the cheapest, which is about USD$3 slightly less for 10pc of hotdog. Gonna just cook it in boiled water. Bo bian gotta ration my $$ carefully cost US dollar ex mah.... but if dun convert, it's really cheaper compared to S'pore suprisingly. Another reason i like America haha
My cheapest meals i can find. Instant noodles at USD$0.28. But i doubt the quality. Got instant pasta as well, but it's about USD$3. So might as well eat this cheap noodle with 2 hotdog?
The mayo are really huge. Cant tell the diff here but ....
An example of how huge stuff are over here....

Guess this section is gonna be my most frequented section of Walmart - Box Dinners Looks fresh and good, but alittle high for my budget on bread. Think u'll like here too dear.
Bread Galore....so much variety and it's really fresh. How i know? Cox i went to squeeze all of it hahahahaha
Another Princess favourite. These huge tubs cost about USD$5 +/-

No wonder americans are huge eh
I like this shop alot. The rich colours looks good, and of course the ice cream looks good too. And it's also Cheap for these branded tubs. After conversion, it's about SGD$5. Cheap eh. This Princess would stock these up.. a tub a day keeps the doctor away hehe....

This is like another supermarket. It's like Econ minimart compared to Careffour

This is like a one dollar store concept. The only stuff i found that i could buy was USD$1 cranberry jucies!!!! Think i'll grab 2 for my stay here since i haf a fridge. Back in S'pore, i'll drink lilke 1 huge bottle in 5days? Sigh.... living on your own is just so diff. Luckily i've been "trained" since young... Little town also got strict safety lawsPetrol ain't that cheap here as wellBack to "Home". In 2hrs, i covered all walkable facilities around this area, with most time spent in Walmart. Hmm....wonder how i'm gonna pass my weekends.

I love you dear... Phase 1 is over. Everything will cease soon....
